Day 3 Go Team!👏

Hello everyone! Today was day three of VBS. After breakfast we went shopping for snacks and souvenirs at a large grocery store, then had lunch at Pastor’s home. The food has been very tasty and nourishing. We will all most likely be a few pounds heavier by the time we go home!  After lunch, Pastor Roldán cut branches from his palm tree for our children’s reenactment of Jesus’ walk into Jerusalem.

Today was our fun and casual shirt day. Pastor Mark’s shirt was very fashionably adorned with flamingos .

Today we had several older children come to VBS. They played catch with the football outside as we were receiving other kids. There are already some pretty good throwing arms😊

Some members of our team were doing last minute quality checks on the equipment.

Dean made sure the crayons were not too melty (heat index over 100 degrees and no breeze) Just kidding, Dean! Actually he was working with a child. We did have that issue the glue sticks. Thank goodness we had tape!

The best part was that we had 36 children today! There were a couple of parents that brought not only theirs but their neighbors’ kids with them!

The children played lots of games as a group. Thread the needle, hot potato, and duck duck goose were fan faves (we had many repeat visitors).

The kids made tambourine style streamers and they got to wave them around and dance to music.

There was lots of singing. Even the older kids were doing baby shark!

Pastor Roldán once again passed out the bracelets and muñecas and talked about the colors. He also had some helpers who volunteered to help him read about the colors.

Carol and Lynne aka Mickey did a great job with the skit.

Cherrie’s lesson was so much fun with the kids marching with palm fronds and tea lights cheering Jesus!

This young man was my buddy. He wanted to be in my blog. Such a beautiful smile. So happy to be a part of our summer bible school!

We had even more parents than yesterday. It was an awesome sight to see child and adult faces taking it all in. Some of the parents gladly helped with projects and wrangling their kids. One dad told me that he rounded up all the boys on his block and was planning to bring them and whoever else he could find to tomorrow’s VBS.

I pray that those parents’ hearts will be touched and that they will continue to bring their children and friends to the church here. Please continue to pray for our work here and for the days and years ahead that this church will be filled with those wanting to know and love our Lord and Savior!

Love and Peace,

Darla
